Answer to GCR101

Your question is a valid one and we do have a lot of work to do on our end, however, the recipients must WANT to be the Jesus followers. If they want it badly enough, whatever we do will work. It is hard to know what to do to create the environment conducive to inspiring individuals. I will pray about it as well.

Dee,
I agree that there must be desire, but I also think that like a good farmer, there are things we can do to nurture a fruitful environment. (I know what fertilizes dirt, but we won't push the analogy too far.) Where do healthy groups and leaders come from?

Small groups are "family", so they need to function as such. They need to get past the surface interaction and move into the intimacy of a family. That is where the leaders need to know how to lead the group in that direction. I know what you are thinking, "I have said all of that before." And yes, you have. So the leaders are where I would start. They need the tools to lead the group to a deeper level of interaction. The Zone Leaders and Coaches must have those same tools.
